Irvine’s tech employers cluster in a few distinct parts of the city, and each one feels a little different.
Irvine Spectrum
The Spectrum, along the 405 and the 133 toll road, is home to many of the larger campuses in this directory, including game studios, medical device makers, and software companies. Expect corporate campuses, and lunch at the Irvine Spectrum Center.
Irvine Business Complex
Near John Wayne Airport, the Irvine Business Complex mixes office towers with newer housing. Headquarters for distribution, software, and adtech companies sit along Michelson Drive and Von Karman Avenue.
UCI Research Park
Next to the University of California, Irvine campus, the research park hosts R&D-heavy companies that benefit from being close to the university.
Tips for visiting
- Plan for traffic on the 405 at rush hour.
- Many campuses have security desks, so bring ID for interviews.
- Ask whether a role is on-site, hybrid, or remote, since policies vary a lot.
